SCRUBB C11 Water Seal: The ultimate protectant for porous exterior surfaces

By penetrating deep into the substrate, SCRUBB Water Seal forms an invisible, breathable barrier against rain and moisture, prolonging the life of your exterior surfaces and reducing freeze-thaw damage. It also protects against unsightly efflorescence, keeping your surfaces looking clean and fresh.

C11 Water Seal
  1. Prepare the surface: Ensure surfaces are thoroughly clean and free of debris, moss, or any loose material. If repairs or repointing are needed, complete these tasks before application.
  2. Application conditions: SCRUBB Water Seal can be applied to dry or damp surfaces (not wet). Avoid applying during wet weather or when rain is forecast within 12 hours.
  3. Application method: Using a pressure sprayer, brush, or roller, saturate the surface, working from the bottom up on vertical surfaces. If using a sprayer, follow up with a roller or brush for even coverage.
  4. Second coat: Apply a second coat within 1 hour of the first, once it has absorbed into the surface but before it has fully cured. Clean tools immediately after use with warm water.

IMPORTANT: Protect the product from frost and do not apply in temperatures below 10°C. Avoid using on surfaces treated with another coating, and test in a small, inconspicuous area to check for potential darkening of the substrate.

  • Exterior walls: Apply to brickwork, concrete, or natural stone walls to protect against rain penetration and prolong their life, particularly in harsh weather.
  • Pebbledash and rendered surfaces: Prevent moisture ingress that could lead to cracking or spalling over time.
  • Efflorescence-prone areas: Ideal for areas where white salt deposits are a concern, as it helps prevent water from penetrating the surface and reduces efflorescence occurrence.

Some situations require alternative solutions:

  • Surfaces with an existing waterproof seal: Avoid using C11 Water Seal on surfaces treated with another waterproof coating, as it may not adhere properly. Consider removing the previous coating before applying.
  • Retaining walls: This product should not be used on retaining walls due to high moisture levels. A liquid membrane or tanking slurry designed for retaining walls would be more suitable.
  • Walls with rising damp issues: Do not apply to walls with existing rising damp problems, as this will not address the underlying issue and could trap moisture inside. Use a specialised damp-proofing solution instead.
  • Work in small sections: For large surfaces, work in manageable sections to ensure adequate saturation and even distribution before curing begins.
  • Avoid streaks: To prevent missed areas, especially with a pressure sprayer, follow up with a brush or roller to ensure full coverage.
  • Test for darkening: Some surfaces may darken slightly when treated. Always test in a small, inconspicuous area first and allow it to dry completely to check the finished effect.
  • Apply during mild conditions: For best results, apply Water Seal during mild weather when temperatures are above 10°C, allowing effective penetration without drying too quickly.
  • Breathable, invisible barrier: Protects porous exterior surfaces from moisture, rain, and freeze-thaw damage.
  • Deep penetration: Unlike some water repellents that only coat the surface, C11 Water Seal penetrates deep into the substrate, ensuring long-lasting protection while maintaining the natural appearance of the material.
